Descripción del Tour:
Starting at 08:00, we will pick up guests from their hotels to embark on our journey to the Andorra Valley, a location known for its distinctive spontaneous urbanizations formed by early settlers of Ushuaia.
By 08:30 a.m., after exiting the vehicle, the trek continues along a melting river that traverses the peat bog covering the valley floor. This terrain, characterized by wet and slippery conditions, requires suitable footwear for safety throughout much of the hike.
Upon entering the forest, a steady ascent begins. While initially intense, it becomes less strenuous as we near the vegetation line at approximately 600 meters above sea level, reaching this point around 10:30 a.m. Beyond the tree line, the scenery reveals the dramatic peaks of the surrounding mountain range that cradle the valley from where our hike commenced.
At 11:30 a.m., the journey continues alongside a stream fed by a glacial lagoon. Decades earlier, the Vinciguerra glacier would calve icebergs into this lagoon. Although the glacier has since retreated several dozen meters, it now presents a fascinating landscape with its ice caves and the enchanting atmosphere that persists, offering breathtaking views.
Around 12:30 p.m., we reach the base of the glacier, where we will enjoy our lunch. An hour later, we begin our descent, aiming to return to our vehicles by 4:00 p.m. and subsequently make our way back to the hotels in Ushuaia.
