Descripción del Tour:
From the hotel, we will depart by bus heading east along glacial valleys lined with forests, following National Route Nº3.
At approximately 10:15 am, we will arrive at the Lasifashaj River, where we will receive a technical safety briefing and be outfitted with rubber boots, trouser covers, life jackets, paddles, and a stable, safe canoe. Our canoeing adventure, lasting about 1:30 hours, will commence through the Guaraní Pass in the Beagle Channel. As we paddle, we will witness the Big Island of Tierra del Fuego, offering us unique panoramic views, immersing ourselves in the sounds of wildlife. We'll observe a wide variety of birds and, likely, some curious sea lions.
By 12:00 pm, we will reach the shore to board a motorboat and navigate around Martillo Island for 30 minutes. This journey provides us with the opportunity to see Magellanic and gentoo penguins up close.
At 12:30, we arrive on Gable Island, where our guide will share insights into the island's significance in the history of Tierra del Fuego before the founding of Ushuaia. In one of the early colonial structures, we will enjoy a freshly prepared lunch, accompanied by Patagonian red wine and a stunning, tranquil view. After dessert and coffee, around 1:45 pm, we will set out to explore the island on an interpretive walk through forests of lengas, coihues, ñires, and cinnamon trees, passing by beaver dams and remnants of the Yámana and Anglican missionaries. At 3:00 pm, we will reach the south coast of Gable Island, offering us an extraordinary panoramic view of the Beagle Channel from the elevated "gables," a glacial formation.
Approximately at 4:15 pm, we will sail for 45 minutes towards Harberton Ranch. Our bus will be waiting to take us back to Ushuaia. En route, we'll make a brief pause at the flag tree for photographs, arriving in Ushuaia by 6:00 pm.
For those preferring not to partake in the canoe trip, an extended, detailed tour of the main Harberton Ranch area is available. After this tour, we will sail to Gable and Martillo Islands to observe the Magellanic and Gentoo penguins.
