Descripción del Tour:

At 8:30 a.m., a specially equipped shuttle departs from Ushuaia, picking up passengers directly from their hotels. During the journey to Tierra Mayor Valley, a guide accompanies the group, offering an introduction to the experience, context of the location, and essential safety tips. The approximately 30-minute drive traverses through a stunning natural landscape of snow-clad forests and Andean peaks.

Upon reaching the park, local staff welcome the group at a base of operations adorned with a polar theme. Guests are warmly greeted, followed by a brief introduction to the day's activities, and the necessary gear is provided, including thermal suits, gloves, and boots if needed. Visitors then head to the exhibition area.
A guided tour of the “Antarctic Explorers” exhibition is conducted within an interactive dome. Panels, historical artifacts, and immersive projections bring to life the adventures of legendary figures like Ernest Shackleton, Roald Amundsen, and other pioneers of the South Pole. The physical and mental challenges they encountered are highlighted, along with how their expeditions enhanced our understanding of the White Continent.
Following the tour, visitors receive technical instruction on operating the snowmobiles. Each guest has the option to drive their own vehicle or share one.
The group embarks on a 6-kilometer trek across the valley's icy plains, navigating through snowy forests, frozen rivers, and sceneries reminiscent of the vast Antarctic terrains. The tour includes brief stops to admire the vistas, capture photos, and learn about the ecosystem.
After completing the snowmobile adventure, visitors board an authentic tracked vehicle, similar to those used in Antarctic research bases. This vehicle enables exploration of more remote park areas. During the 4-kilometer journey, the guide simulates a scientific exploration, explaining the transportation of equipment and supplies under extreme conditions. The journey covers challenging terrains, mimicking glacier crossings and uneven surfaces.
The tracked vehicle finally arrives at the ANTARCTIC MINIBASE, a replica of a scientific base. Here, visitors explore living modules, research labs, and storage areas, all meticulously themed.
Immersive experiences simulate scientific tasks on the continent, such as glacier measurements, sample collection, and meteorological analysis. Contemporary issues like climate change and its effects on the poles are discussed, supported by projections and real scientist testimonies.
At the base, a themed snack is served, featuring hot drinks (chocolate, infusions, coffee) and energy foods similar to those consumed by explorers: bars, nuts, hot soups, etc. The cozy environment, decorated with maps, photographs, and stories, is perfect for sharing impressions of the experience.
After enjoying the snack, passengers board the transport for the return journey to Ushuaia. The trip back offers a chance to relax, share stories, and enjoy the snowy landscape one last time.
The tour concludes around 1:30 PM, with guests arriving at their respective hotels.

Preguntas Frecuentes

The Antarctic Experience includes an unparalleled adventure where you can enjoy guided excursions on the Antarctic Peninsula. During the excursion, you'll have the opportunity to see marine wildlife such as penguins, seals, and birds, as well as experience glacier walks and visits to scientific bases. The entire tour will be accompanied by expert guides, who will offer fascinating insights into the history and geography of this amazing destination. Your safety and comfort are our priority, ensuring you have an unforgettable trip to one of the most remote places in the world.

The best time to enjoy the Antarctic Experience is during the southern hemisphere summer, which runs from November to March. During these months, weather conditions are more favorable, allowing for a more comfortable journey and greater accessibility for outdoor activities. This is also when the local wildlife is most active, providing a perfect setting for observing penguins and other unique species. Choosing this season ensures you can fully experience this adventure in a safer and more enjoyable environment.

On the Antarctic Experience excursion, we use specialized vessels to navigate the frigid waters of the Antarctic continent. The vessels are designed for safety and comfort, equipped with advanced navigation and stabilization technology. Each vessel features comfortable cabins, communal areas for relaxation, and panoramic windows for enjoying the surrounding landscape. They also ensure they meet the highest environmental sustainability standards, minimizing the ecological impact on this sensitive region.

Special physical fitness is not required to participate in the Antarctic Experience, but good general health is important. Activities are designed to be accessible to most participants and can be adapted to different ability levels. Ice walks are moderate, and you will always be accompanied by trained guides who will assist you at all times. Be sure to inform us of any special medical conditions so the team can provide you with appropriate support during the excursion.

For your trip to Antarctica, it's essential to pack appropriate clothing for cold weather. We recommend bringing several layers of thermal clothing, a waterproof coat, a hat, gloves, a scarf, and ice-appropriate boots. It's also advisable to bring sunscreen and sunglasses, as reflections on the ice can be intense. Although the ship will provide some specialized equipment, such as hiking boots, it's important to be prepared to enjoy the icy environment in comfort throughout your excursion.
