Antarctic Experience
Duración: 5 Horas
Live a unique experience in Tierra del Fuego: the Antarctic Experience transports you to the heart of the white continent without having to cross the sea.
The excursion begins with a transfer from your hotel to the Tierra Mayor Valley, where the adventure begins. Visit an interactive exhibit about great polar explorers, drive a snowmobile across snowy landscapes simulating the Antarctic plains, and explore remote areas in an authentic tracked vehicle, just like the one used at the scientific bases.
Explore a ANTARCTIC MINI BASE equipped like a real polar station, participate in simulated scientific activities, and learn about climate change. Close the tour with a themed snack in a cozy and atmospheric setting.
Ideal for all ages, this excursion combines adventure, education, and nature in a unique setting in Patagonia.

Descripción del Tour:
At 8:30 a.m., a specially equipped shuttle departs from Ushuaia, picking up passengers directly from their hotels. During the journey to Tierra Mayor Valley, a guide accompanies the group, providing introductory information about what they will experience, the context of the place, and some safety instructions. The approximately 30-minute journey passes through a natural setting of snowy forests and Andean mountains.
Upon arrival at the park, the group is greeted by local staff at a base of operations decorated with a polar aesthetic. A warm welcome is offered, accompanied by a brief introductory talk about the day, and the necessary equipment is provided (thermal suits, gloves, boots if necessary). Visitors then proceed to the exhibition area.
A guided tour of the “Antarctic Explorers” exhibition takes place in an interactive dome. Panels, historical artifacts, and immersive projections narrate the lives and exploits of iconic figures such as Ernest Shackleton, Roald Amundsen, and other South Pole pioneers. The physical and mental challenges they faced are highlighted, as well as how their journeys influenced our understanding of the White Continent.
After the tour, there is technical instruction on how to use the snowmobiles. Each visitor can drive their own motorcycle (or share one if they prefer).
The group embarks on a 6-kilometer journey across the valley`s frozen plain, passing through snowy forests, frozen rivers, and landscapes that simulate the vast Antarctic plains. During the tour, brief stops are made to admire the surroundings, take photographs, and learn about the ecosystem.

After completing the motorcycle tour, visitors board an authentic tracked vehicle, similar to those used at Antarctic scientific bases. This vehicle allows visitors to explore more remote areas of the park. During the 4-kilometer journey, the guide recreates a scientific exploration voyage, explaining how equipment and supplies are transported in extreme conditions. More difficult terrain is traversed, simulating crossing glaciers or uneven surfaces.
The tracked vehicle finally arrives at the ANTARCTIC MINIBASE, a replica of a scientific base. There, visitors explore living modules, research laboratories, and storage areas, all faithfully themed.
Immersive experiences are offered that simulate scientific work on the continent: glacier measurements, sample collection, meteorological analysis, etc. Current topics such as climate change and its impact on the poles are also addressed, with projections and testimonies from real scientists.

At the base, a themed snack is served, which may include hot drinks (chocolate, infusions, coffee), and energy foods similar to those used by explorers: bars, nuts, hot soups, etc. The environment is warm, decorated with maps, photographs and stories, ideal for exchanging impressions about the experience.
After enjoying the snack, passengers board the transport that will take them back to Ushuaia. The return trip is an opportunity to relax, share stories, and take in the snowy landscape one last time.
The tour concludes around 1:30 PM, with arrival at the respective hotels.
